HOA: Texas Homeowners Form A covers the policyholder's home and property for:

  • Fire and Lightning Damage
  • Wind, Hurricane and Hail Damage
  • Smoke Damage
  • Vandalism and Malicious Mischief
  • Theft
  • Explosions and Riot or Civil Disturbance
  • Aircraft and Vehicles

Homeowners' policies also include coverage for liability and medical payments as well as additional coverage for loss and use of the home.

Property loss payments are limited to the actual cash value at the time of the loss, with deductions for depreciation (or the cost to repair or replace the covered property, or the limits of liability of the policy, whichever is less).

HOA Preferred: The Texas Homeowners Form A can be endorsed to include:

  • Sudden and Accidental Discharge of Water or Steam
  • Objects Falling from Weight of Snow, Sleet, and Ice
  • Falling Trees and Limbs
  • Building Collapse

With HOA Plus, the settlement of losses provides full replacement cost for damages to the dwelling, subject to various conditions. For example, the dwelling must be insured for at least 80% of replacement cost. Personal property may also be selected for replacement cost by purchase of a separate policy endorsement.

HOB Modified Colonial Lloyds Texas Homeowners Form B is an all risk policy form. Some excluded perils and losses are: earthquake and earth movement, flood, wear and tear, insect/termite damage, and mold remediation costs.

Personal property losses must be caused by a named peril such as fire, wind, hurricane, explosion, aircraft, vehicles, vandalism, accidental discharge of water or steam, structural collapse, and theft. Certain limits apply to jewelry and property off-premise.

TDP-1: Texas Dwelling Policy Form 1 is a named peril policy which covers the dwelling and household goods (if included) for:

  • Fire and Lightning
  • Wind, Hurricane and Hail Damage
  • Explosion, Riot or Civil Disturbance
  • Aircraft and Vehicles
  • Sudden and Accidental Damage from Smoke
